My savingram No.1010 of 8th October 1948.
Education Grant Code.
It appears from letters sont to Cox by
ishop Hall and by Rowell, of which you are aware, that you may shortly be faced by deadlock on the most important of the three points referred to in para. 5 of my savingram 1010.
29 Approval of the new amendments to Grant Code submitted to me under savingram No.494 of 16th July 1948 was deferred pending discussions in London (my savingrom No.862 of 28th August 1948) after which situation was left as in para, 7 of my savingram 1010.
3. If, as I should greatly prefer, agrooment can be reached locally my approval is likely to be given without delay. Otherwise I am disposed to consult appropriate sub-committee of my Advisory Committee ou Education when I receive amendments in final form and to decide in the light of their advice whether or not I should approve revised Code.
4.
See my immediately following telegram with
message from Cox for Rowell.
